About Yvonne Morgan Consultancy

​

Yvonne Morgan Consultancy was established by Yvonne Morgan in July 2019 following a 13-year career in the University sector. During this time, Yvonne has worked in a number of universities throughout the UK, to include post-92 and Russell Group Universities.

​

Yvonne’s career has been focused on supporting research and innovation activities and her experience extends from a project administration level, through to a senior management role. Yvonne has supported an extensive portfolio of activities and areas of expertise.  She has experience of supporting research and innovation income targets for faculties and research teams winning up to £20 Million in successful awards per year.

​

Using 13 years experience, and a network of contacts from across funders and the University sector, Yvonne’s ambition is to reach as many Universities, industries and charities through Yvonne Morgan Consultancy as possible. By providing advisory support, training and mentorship, Yvonne aims to support individuals and organisations to successfully access the £Million’s of funding that is available in the UK to support Research and Innovation.

Career Highlights:

 

Cardiff Met University

  • Knowledge Transfer Officer for School of Education; Sport; and Health

    • Supported the submission of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) applications.

 

Coventry University

  • Research Funding Consultant for Faculty of Engineering and Computing

    • Supported the faculty to win in excess of £8M of successful EU H2020 Research and Innovation Action awards within 18 months.

 

University of Southampton

  • Senior Research Support Officer

    • Supported in excess of 80 funding applications with the majority of those to various EPSRC calls and strategic areas.

    • Designed and embedded a fast-track mentorship scheme that supported academic researchers for a period of 12 months to submit successful funding applications.

    • Organised a Research Week that involved a week of talks, seminars, workshops and funder visits for the Faculty.

 

Swansea University

  • Research Development Officer for the College of Science

    • Supported the development of quality research funding bids across the College of Science to a diverse range of funders to include EPSRC, Innovate UK, NERC, BBSRC, STFC, Royal Society, Leverhulme Trust to a value of circa £13.5M in funding applications within 12 months.

    • Strengthened the college’s links to key funders through individually organising funder visits from GCRF, NERC and the Chief Executive and the Food Standards Agency.

 

  • Research Hub Manager for the College of Human and Health and the Medical School

    • Provided operational management to a team of individuals supporting research, innovation and engagement activity. The Hub supported academic staff and researchers submit research and innovation funding applications to an annual value of £58.5M and £19M in successful awards, the equivalent of circa 40 funding applications and 15 new funding awards per month.

    • Organised a funder day as part of the Research and Innovation support week at Swansea University which involved organising presentations from a number of funders to include; Cancer Research UK, Royal Academy of Engineering, BBSRC, MRC, Wellcome Trust, EPSRC, Innovate UK.
